Unless the fathers in your life have a standing, unyielding menu for Father’s Day, it’s always a challenge to live up to whatever you cooked the guys the year before. The double challenge is making something that is substantial enough for the men but not over-the-top in calories for the ladies. To my mind, chicken and waffles always fits the bill for everyone. And you can eat as little or as much as your heart desires. See my May 10th blog for a Buttermilk Chicken recipe. This year, we’re offering two new dishes for our guys – Pecan French Toast Casserole and Crab Benedict. The father’s in your life will feel very loved if you offer them one. 6 large eggs
3 cups whole milk
½ tsp nutmeg, grated
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 cup brown sugar, divided
1 cup pecan pieces, ~3 oz.
¼ cup plus 1 tsp butter, divided
¼ tsp salt
1. Butter a 13“x9” baking dish/ Cut 20 1” slices from the baguette and arrange in a single layer in dish. In large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, nutmeg, vanilla and ¾ cup brown sugar. Pour evenly over bread.
2. Chill mixture, covered, until all liquid is absorbed by bread, at least 8 hours, and up to one day.
3. Preheat oven to 350F. In shallow baking pan, spread pecans evenly and toast in middle of oven until fragrant, ~8 min. Toss pecans in pan with butter and salt.
4. Increase oven temperature to 400F. Sprinkle pecans evenly over bread mixture. In small pan, heat butter with remaining ¼ cup brown sugar. Stir until butter is melted. Drizzle mixture over bread.
5. Bake 30-45 min. or until firm and browned on top.

For the first time a marijuana drug charge could land you in jail ā€“ forever. The State Senate voted 44 to 2 in favor of the legislation. The bill will not go to the State House for consideration. If passed, it will be transferred to the stateā€™s governor for final approval.
The proposed law was requested by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) which claimed the state has seen a few cases of hash manufacturing recently.
OBNDDā€™s hope is the law would send a message to would-be hash creators that Oklahoma is serious tough on drugs.
Under the law, anyone convicted, even for a first offense, would receive between two years and life in prison. Under a second offense the penalty would be doubled and the individual deemed ineligible for a suspended sentence or probation.

While I may not agree with the use of drugs, whether you classify them as that or not, look at the big picture. If I want to eat a stick off the ground I have the right to, yet the FDA (and whatever other federal entities that may be in play) thinks they can dictate what you put in your body. Funny how that works huh?
This is one way how USA collapses. From enriching a prison contractor/supplier clique, on the basis of tax payer supported prisons against otherwise productive citizens who in fact do create GDP or contribute to the local economy. It's no more harmful than alcohol or tobacco. How much could that same citizen contribute if hash was legal and he wasn't in prison? He becomes a drain on the economy to enrich the prison instead. Distribution is something I can't really defend. But growing for own use I am 100% behind. The state should be the only one selling, and that should be at heavily depressed controlled prices.
