Islamic Extremism Isn'ta Joke, Mitt
During Monday night’s GOP presidential debate, Mitt “ RomneyCare ” Romney seemed to think it was silly when Herman Cain said Muslim candidates for a presidential administration position should be closely scrutinized because of the conflicts between Islam and the American system of government.
The silly one was Romney himself.
Evil has an insidious way of creeping up on a culture, and when one has lost its moral center as most have in the West, it can happen relatively quickly. Virtually all the Western nations have embraced mindless multiculturalism, a philosophy which pretends that all ideas and ways of life are equally valid and moral, and which leads the believer to bend over backwards in accommodation of anything that comes along.
I’m sure the British, once a bulwark of the Christian worldview and Western values, never dreamed they would be embracing Shariah courts. The British empire once spanned the globe with a presence on virtually ever continent; how could Great Britain possibly surrender to a backwards, barbaric cultural system? Yet it is happening.
In a BBC article in 2008, the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams said Shariah in Britain was “unavoidable.”
What of its civil code though – which the Muslim Council of Britain’s Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra describes as “small aspects” that concern “marriage, divorce, inheritance, custody of children”? According to human rights campaigner Gita Sahgal, “there is active support for sharia laws precisely because it is limited to denying women rights in the family. No hands are being cut off, so there can’t be a problem …”
Now a report, Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights, reveals the adverse effect of sharia courts on family law. Under sharia’s civil code, a woman’s testimony is worth half of a man’s. A man can divorce his wife by repudiation, whereas a woman must give justifications, some of which are difficult to prove. Child custody reverts to the father at a preset age; women who remarry lose custody of their children even before then; and sons inherit twice the share of daughters. Muslims have shown themselves to be very adept at using weaknesses and blind spots in Western culture against Western culture itself. With blind spots already being exploited ruthlessly by the Left in America, can you rationally assume Muslims in America will not soon be doing so, too?
