Coast Guard Island worker accused in road rage incident
A man who works as an independent contractor on Alameda's Coast Guard Island faces multiple felony charges after authorities said he impersonated a police officer and threatened a female driver during a road rage incident in Marin County.
The 52-year-old Novato man, who the California Highway Patrol arrested June 11, was allegedly in possession of two loaded handguns, a Taser stun gun, a machete and marijuana in his Chevrolet pickup.
According to the CHP, the man repeatedly cut off the woman as they were driving on Bel Marin Keys Boulevard, part of an unincorporated area of Marin County east of Novato. The man also allegedly approached the victim on foot, flashed a badge and threatened to arrest her, despite not working in law enforcement. Investigators tracked him down through his license plate number.
As an independent contractor, the man provides construction planning services to the U.S. Coast Guard in Alameda.

SATURDAY, JUNE 11
DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a 26-year-old Alameda man on suspicion of drunken driving about 2:20 a.m. following a traffic stop on Maitland Drive.
MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Police arrested three men about 9:15 p.m. on suspicion of possessing marijuana on Sea View Parkway. Two of the men, who are 20 and 21, live in Alameda, while the third lives in Georgia. He is 21 years old. Officers initially detained the group as suspicious persons.
SUNDAY, JUNE 12
VEHICLE THEFT -- Someone stole a vehicle from the 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue, police said. It was reported at 10:45 a.m.
DRUNKEN DRIVING -- An Alameda man, 22, faces a drunken driving charge after he showed signs of intoxication during a traffic stop, police said. The arrest occurred about 2:20 a.m. in the 2400 block of Encinal Avenue.
MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Police arrested a 24-year-old Oakland man at Jackson Park on Park Avenue after an officer allegedly found him in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The officer initially contacted him as a suspicious person.
MONDAY, JUNE 13
VEHICLE THEFT -- Someone stole a vehicle from the 2200 block of San Jose Avenue, police said. It was reported about 12:30 p.m.
