— Corpus Christi police arrested a 24-year-old man Tuesday after he was accused of trying to pull a boy into a bathroom stall in a bookstore.Police believe the same man was involved in a similar incident in a bathroom at a pizza restaurant in May.
Officers were called about 7 p.m. Tuesday to a bookstore in the 5100 block of South Padre Island Drive where an 8-year-old boy said a man tried to pull him into a stall, but he broke free, said Senior Officer Jose Olivares.
Police found a man nearby who matched the boy's description and arrested him.
Investigators recalled a similar report in May from a 4-year-old boy, Olivares said. Police said the 24-year-old man told officers he was involved in that incident.
Daryl Justin Stephens of Corpus Christi was arrested on suspicion of indecency with a child, unlawful restraint and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
He was being held Thursday in the Nueces County Jail on $190,000 bail.
Police believe there could be other incidents and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 888-8477.
