District 68, 99 Bus Terminal Won't be in Lisle

"It is understood that all this setback is a disadvantage for our new supplier, the bus service to District 99 students in the new school year will not be adversely affected," District 99 Communications Director Jill Browning wrote in an e -mail.
Westway will follow its course out of the slot for the District 68 Lemont, according to Kevin Wegner, assistant superintendent of business for the district.
Administrator Cathy Cawiezel said before the vote that she would remain "on the fence" at least some of the potential for bus traffic has been diverted from Yendi to Indiana Avenue.
Administrator Mark Boyle suggested the village to add a provision allowing the board to evaluate the performance of the terminal and the impact on the region.
The request drew fire from residents since its first appearance before the PZC in May.
Several residents, including those living near the Avenue Yendi and Hitchcock Woods, spoke about the potential impact of the terminal to their quality of life. Among the concerns were pollution, the potential danger to children, the current traffic problems and testing of bus horns over an hour and a half each morning.
Other residents stressed the element must be rejected based on prior "tainted" hearings.Owner Brian McClure has repeatedly stated his intentions during the hearings to give birth function after saying his rights were rejected, most recently, when his attempts to assign several elements to the meeting on August 3 PZC were denied.
